Then we meandered down the coast to Southern Calif. for our visit with the famous mouse. With the summer crowds gone and no lines to contend with, we almost felt like we had the park to ourselves.
See? No lines. We spent 3 days going at a nice leisurely pace just enjoying the make believe world that Walt created. On our last day we sat by the river enjoying our overpriced hamburgers and waxing nostalgic about our first Disneyland experiences back in the fifties.
So, refreshed & rejuvenated from a week of R & R, I'm ready to dive into the holiday season with both feet & both hands. I can tell by all the scribbles on my calendar that I'm going to be pretty busy running hither & yon. I've got most of my Christmas shopping done. It helps that my family loves anything Disney. I thought I was almost done with handmade items for Christmas but then I added something to my list. I just couldn't see spending $65 on something I saw at the Disney Store that I could make for about ten bucks. Thanksgiving will be at our place this year so I've got to do some planning for that. And then there is the Red & White Snowball Challenge I signed up for! I took my fabrics along on our trip and got all the red parts cut and started on the lights.
Now I need to finish getting the creams/tans cut and send off the strips to my swap partners. I'll do that today and get them posted tomorrow. I'm glad I waited to finish the light strips because the swap strips are supposed to be 5" wide not 4" like I thought! I don't have the book with the pattern instructions but since the block is so simple I decided to make mine with 9" finished blocks using my 3.5" strips. So, to my swap partners Katy, Debra, Jennifer, Kathy, Christine and Esther the fabric is getting it's pre-wash now and those 5" strips will be on their way to you tomorrow morning. I'm so looking forward to working on a new project and seeing everyone else's progress.

Happy anniversary! It sounds like you had a wonderful trip. I haven't begun Christmas shopping!!!
Wow, 41 years! I love Disneyland, my hubby took me there for a present when I finished a 1 yr intensive computer program. I had a ball. Can't wait to see your red/white. I'm in the midst of 2 other red/wht so I did not sign up but will follow your progress. Love the pattern.
WOW, what's up with THAT?!! lol I think everyone was at the OTHER Disney as we just came back from there (like you, two 'mature' adults on our own, no kids/g-kids)and it was PACKED!! Love, love, LOVE Disney (World) and are Disney Vacation Club members for years now. I'm doing the same snowball only in red/white/blue so we have a LOT in common! Happy Anniversary!!
What a lovely celebebration - congratulations. It looks like a wonderful trip.
Great idea - and congratulations - 8-))) You deserve medals!
Happy Anniversary! Glad you had a good time at Dwiddlyland, as I've heard it called :) I hope you waved hi to me as you ran down the 101. Sounds like you'll be very very busy for the next month.
Happy Anniversary! You certainly know how to celebrate! Sounds like you had a great time. I like your wedded bliss/stubborn perseverance description of successful marriage. We will be celebrating our 50th next month, and I would have to agree that it takes a little of both. Here's to many more celebrations!
Congratulations on your loonngg marriage and a fun trip to Disneyland. It sure sounds like it was a great vacation.
Happy belated Anniversary!! What a great way to celebrate.
Welcome Home :0)

Happy Anniversary. Sounds like you had a wonderful trip!!
Happy belated anniversary! Sounds like you had a great time and are all re-charged and ready to go!
That snowball quilt looks like fun. I just had that book from the library!
Glad you are back. I thought you might be on a trip. Belated Happy Anniversary. What a fun trip.
Just stopped by to say thanks for the snowball fabric. I received the package you sent in my mail today.
And, congrats on your anniversary. Sounds like it was a great trip.
Avila Beach is one of my favorite places... A friend's grandparents had a ranch up there and we'd go work the cattle at vacations. The State owns most of it now: it is the park.
Glad you and Honey are so darn stubborn! Congrats on the longevity of your union.
What a brilliant idea! And congratulations on your 'stubborn perseverance'! I'm adopting that as my 'in' phrase as of now!!!!!
Happy (belated) Anniversary! Looks like you had a great time at Disneyland. And the reds and white pile of squares looks pretty good. I like your idea of enlarging the blocks.
Going to Disneyland on our own is one of my husbands and my favorite vacations too! Congratulations on your anniversary.
Your stack of red and cream fabrics is lookin' good!
